Surrender to Bliss

by | Sep 20, 2021

Two of the main drives of human nature: to get pleasure, to avoid pain.

We might tap into meditation likely to avoid the pain of being unconscious through life, or to grasp bliss in instants of desire-less truth and absolute surrender.

Often we tend to rush towards the things that give us pleasure in such way that we forget to slow down the pace once we grasp it, and hence passes by so quickly we can barely taste it. Awareness is therefore something that we need to recycle as often as possible,  wishful thinking in every breath, but heck at least a couple of times a day!

In meditation it is not the best option to rush towards samadhi/ mahamudra/ eudaimonia; as within the deepest surrender the light comes to shine almost instantly. Paradoxically surrendering is not what we have learned as to how to obtain something, but to fight. Hence the fight for enlightenment is encapsulated within surrender… go figure that funny thing!

Then upon surrender… ahh the bliss so good that makes my skin get goosebumps with chills all over my body and a sensation as if something is evaporating from my skin. The bliss so overwhelming that my body doesn’t feel like it can contain it and my eyes start shedding tears. Nothing matters in this one moment… everything just makes perfect sense. Sometimes it is a good idea to journey into a mediation retreat, there are organizations that provide Vipassana meditation retreat and only ask for a voluntary donation to the first timers so that everybody can access a meditation retreat. At Life Synergy in Playa del Carmen we offer meditation in most of our retreats and occasionally run meditation-only retreats. For people who are exploring further than meditation the mushroom and ayahuasca retreat may be a good option, I have personally experience the same clarity as with the use of psychedelics by the pure habit of meditation two hours a day, exercise, juice fastings and sexual abstinence; more or less after a month a sort of natural high for life started kicking in, yet it requires somewhat of an extraordinary motivation and discipline to achieve this lifestyle without a break, also at least five hours a day to this very end, yet that is the organic way to go. That said, we have seen people who attend our mind reset mushroom retreat in Mexico and right after they start doing yoga and meditation at least three times a week at the age of 50 with reported remarkable physical benefits in joints range of motion.

A constant meditation practice is one of the most underestimated practices we can get to have, it gives a wide arrange of benefits, from practical decision making, to stress management and therefore preventing every possible problem that stress can cause. Also once we attain a certain state of lightness it becomes sort of the healthiest addiction one can have, that of peace. As well one problem upon attaining is, the human drive of greed to own it, or either the fear to loose it… it instantly vanishes the light. This tricky mind!
